July 2 2002CALGARY -(Dow Jones)- EnCana Corp.'s U.S.
subsidiary has acquired about 600 billion cubic feet equivalent
(established) of long-life, natural gas and associated natural gas liquids
reserves and about 16,000 net acres of land in the Jonah field in
southwest Wyoming .
In a news release, EnCana said the reserves were acquired from Williams Cos (NYSE: WMB - News) .' Williams Production Rocky Mountain Co . subsidiary for about $350 million. EnCana said the reserves are producing about 135 million cubic feet of gas equivalent a day. The company said the acquisition includes developed and undeveloped reserves and lands in the U.S. Rocky Mountain region and increases EnCana's interest in the Jonah field by 50%. EnCana said the acquisition increases its productive capacity from Jonah to more than 400 million cubic feet of gas equivalent a day. Certain of the assets are subject to third-party rights of first refusal, it noted.
